The hotel is located in the center of the city, close to the train station and all the shops at walkable distance. The Hotel offers a wonderful view on the river and the mountains, in the evening with all the lights on, the landscape is just great. The room was spacious and clean with 2 small balconies facing the river. We had a NESPRESSO machine with a variety of coffee choices that were restocked every day. Every day the staff would pass by offering small chocolates to the client of the hotel. WIFI connection was very good. We had also a dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was very good.

The location is about 10 minutes fast walking to the train station in Lucerne. I had a good view of the river with the Chapel Bridge. The staff were excellent n very helpful. Buffet breakfast was very substantial. There's a very good Thai restaurant facing the hotel main entrance. Small n unnoticeable, the humble chef cooks very authentic Thai dishes. Location is fantastic and the staff was really super. The view was beautiful facing the water. The room was very clean.

The room, facilities, staff and location were great. We had a balcony room, which has a great view. We spent a lot of time just sitting on the balcony and enjoying the river, people, mountains, city and the atmosphere. The location is right in old town on the river. There are numerous great restaurants and shopping within a short walk. The hotel restaurant is also very good, and you don't have to leave the hotel. The staff was excellent. We loved our stay.

Number of nights - 1 Room type - Queen Room Pros: 1. Room - the room is clean however is very small. It has all the amenities you require, however if you have 2 suitcases, it difficult to open it :) 2. Bathroom - clean and spacious 3. Staff - very friendly. The staff invited us for free drinks at bar in the evening. 4. Location - excellent. It is central and right on the water. You can enjoy your meals at the balcony and enjoy the views. 5. Breakfast - it was fresh and tasty. 6. Value for money - a bit at the expensive side but it is due to quality and location.

What an amazing hotel! It was in a beautiful location on the river and in a beautiful part of Luzern. Our room was very large with amazing views of the river with large beautiful windows to enjoy the view and also had a very nice bathroom. The staff was also so friendly and gave us great advice about the restaurants and the trips we could take while we were there. It was so nice to be able to buy the tickets right at the hotel for our trip to Mt. Pilatus.

1. Nice location-> easy to access to any place 2. Good welcome drink and chocolate. 3. Nice terras 4. Water provided at every floor 5. When I left my baggage before check-in, they moved it to my room before I came back to collect it.

Since our prior hotel that we booked 2 months before was closed without giving us notice, we were very lucky to be able to find and stay in a large beautiful river view room at Hotel Des Balances. The staff were very friendly and helpful and actually had our room ready at 12 noon allowing us to drop off our bags and go sightseeing . We enjoyed the bar and had a wonderful breakfast the morning of our departure. This hotel turned what could have been a very bad experience into a wonderful stay. Thank you Hotel Des Balances!

Amazing location especially if you face the river and mountains. It is also close to anything needed in the city. The staff were very helpful helped with anything between restaurants, valet parking and others…and the room amenities are great, both in room and the daily delivered. Good hotel restaurant. Highly recommended visit

Hotel staff on reception and in the restaurant were exceptional and very attentive. Room size was good and location was central to many of the places of interest we visited.
